Hard Core Circuit Training will die from Making you Vomit

Have you ever done Hard Core Circuit Training that made you Vomit? I know I may have almost vomited from some workouts but never have. This is an interesting article from Craig Ballantyne about how some people are doing hard core circuit training. Are these vomit inducing conditioning workouts really paying off or are they at the risk of injury?

Now over to Craig Ballantyne to his story about some of the hard core circuit training that he sees going on at his local gym.

Death of Hard Core Circuit Training and Vomit Inducing Conditioning Workouts

On Saturday morning at my local YMCA, I watched two guys do “vomit inducing conditioning workouts”.  I call them “vomit-inducing” because I wanted to vomit from watching their form.

One guy was doing explosive reverse curls (meant to be hang cleans) while another did flippity flop DB snatches followed by one of the worst planks I’ve ever witnessed.

Injure your rotator cuffs and lower back much, boys?

And this is why we are going to see the Death of Hard Core Circuit Training in the next few years. Between the injuries and the vomiting, these home-made hard-core trainers are making a mockery of serious, professional personal trainers.

I mean, listen, I’ve watched two 15-year old boys make each other puke at the gym, but would you want THEM to be your trainer?

Of course not.

You want results. That’s all that matters. You don’t want to – or need to – vomit when you exercise. And you don’t want to be injured all the time either. Or am I just that out of touch with what the cool kids are doing these days?

I don’t know…maybe it’s just the grizzled ol’ veteran trainer in me that gets frustrated with the way things are in the fitness industry.

After all, I’ve been through…

“The Endless Amount of Cardio Phase”

“The Situps and Crunches Phase”

“The Dangerous Standing on the Stability Ball Phase”

and now

“The Do Circuit Training Until Your Puke With No Regard to Form Phase”.

But this too shall pass.

Of course, it won’t disappear overnight, but you and I will still be here when these “hard-core” trainers shiftily disappear and fly-by-night after their clients come in with sore backs, cricks in their necks, and ruined rotators.

You see, they don’t understand that it’s not about destroying clients.

Just the opposite.

It’s about TRANSFORMING clients. About making them better people. Challenging them to change their bodies and their lives. And yes, working through physical challenges is a part of that, but not at the expense of their overall health and safety.

After all, there’s no point in being able to do a “killer workout” if it puts you on the disabled list for 6 weeks or makes you vomit up that $4 protein shake and $5 chicken breast. Sounds a little counter- productive to me.

Listen, there will always be room for tough workouts, for trainers to take their clients to their limits, but only when done safely and under the guidelines of proven scientific research and years of experience.

In fact, I spent an hour this weekend going through an article on Metabolic Finishers that Certified Turbulence Trainer Mike Whitfield submitted for a new TT program for our members.

Now THAT is how you should do advanced, intense workouts.

Thank goodness for trainers like Mike, and I’ll be sharing some of these workouts with 91,500 TT readers very soon.

But those home-made hard-core trainers and their circuit death workouts “finished at all costs” are not going to last.

And that’s a good thing.

That will leave more room for our Turbulence Training 1 Million Mission of helping 1 Million Men and Women transform their bodies and their lives.

More room for you and I to make a difference and leave a legacy that remains long after we’re working out in the old trainers home down in Florida

The Stock of Hard Core Circuit Training is going down

So I’m calling a peak in the market. The bubble is bursting. The stock of hard core circuit training is going down, and will be replaced – starting today – with better solutions, by trainers who care about results, not locker room boasting of how many people vomited in their class today.

It’s time to change the way the fitness industry thinks about exercise. It’s time to move away from sacrificing form and function and shift back to what matters – helping you transform and redesign your body so that you get the results you want.

Not the results that some hard core circuit training, sadistic, home-made trainer wants.

Circuit training is dead. Long live smart training.

2011 05 may tt metabolic resistance training Hard Core Circuit Training will die from Making you Vomit=> Smart training with Metabolic Resistance Training

To your safety and success,

Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

I think I’ve seen some of these people back when I was at the gym. Really… what benefit does vomiting have on helping your workout. I don’t know about you but I don’t care for vomiting or even working out that hard that I feel like vomiting. Circuit training is great but not to that point. Now Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training has Metabolic Resistance Training workouts that will help you get better results then any of this hard core circuit training without the vomiting.

Fat Burning Bodyweight Cardio Workouts for Vacation

You’ve come to the right place if you are looking for Vacation Fat Burning Bodyweight Cardio Workouts. So many people take vacations a year and most come up with the excuse that the hotel gym isn’t adequate or that there is no gym. It’s hard finding a hotel with a gym that meets your needs. Why not change your workout to suite the hotel instead of change the hotel to suite your workout? There are over 100 bodyweight exercises out there to choose from. Lets get started.

Now over to an article from bodyweight exercise expert, Craig Ballantyne.

Fat Burning Bodyweight Cardio Workouts for Fat Burning on Vacation

You’re surrounded by nothing. Stuck in a house or hotel, miles from the  furthest gym.

Perhaps visiting the in-laws, or a seminar in Independence, Ohio (trust me, I’ve been there), but you still want to do a fat burning workout.

You can’t even go for a walk because its a) raining, b) snowing, c) there are no sidewalks (hello Independence, Ohio).

So what can you do?

A bodyweight cardio fat burning workout to the rescue. Some other trainers might call it metabolic conditioning, and sure, you can do similar workouts with kettlebells or even dumbbells, but those implements can’t help you now because you are stuck in the middle of nowhere with now way out.

The only “equipment” you have is your own body, but all they taught you in gym class was how to do crunches, pushups, and flexed arm hangs. And you aren’t doing that from the doorframe here in the doubletree.

Fortunately, I’ve spent my entire adult life researching wild workouts, exotic exercises, and bodyweight movements. My bodyweight exercise obsession all started back in college, when I came home for a Christmas break in my freshman year, and had no ride to the gym, or even the money to afford a day pass.

So instead, I went through all of my old issues of Men’s Health magazine and put together a list of every body weight exercise I could find. Eventually, I stumbled across a workout that wasn’t full of crunches, situps, and plain old pushups. I somehow managed, at the age of 19, to figure out a bodyweight circuit that was tough, worked the entire body, and didn’t require equipment.

Fast forward fifteen years later, and I’m still on the hunt for more bodyweight workouts. You’ve probably used one of my bodyweight challenges from Men’s Health magazine, or found one of my workout videos on youtube.

This fat burning workout video below is probably my most famous, the no-equipment 5 rounds of 5 minutes bodyweight workout program. You don’t need anything – other than your own bodyweight – to get an amazing full body workout, anytime, anywhere.

You don’t need to be outside to do this bodyweight cardiofat burning workout, but hey, it doesn’t hurt to be out in the sunshine, getting a glorious sweat on with this intense bodyweight workout.

A minute of bodyweight exercises doesn’t sound like much, but seriously, when you get down to the brass tacks, it sure is a heck of a challenge. I’d love to know what you think of this workout and other ones like it. I have dozens of interval-type workouts that don’t require you to sit on a stationary bike or use a treadmill. And you absolutely have no need to ever suffer the ‘dishonor’ of slow boring cardio ever again.

Thanks to bodyweight exercises (plus kettlebells, dumbbells, TRX exercises, etc.), there are far too many fun workouts out there that can help you burn fat without the need for expensive, overcrowded gym memberships.

That said, you can also do a tremendous workout in a hotel room (even in Independence, Ohio), in your in-laws living room, your backyard, the park, or even your office (but you’ll want to shut the door, of course).

Bodyweight cardio fat burning workouts to the rescue.

You’ll be able to burn fat with bodyweight exercises anywhere,

Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

I know what you are thinking…. Bodyweight exercises aren’t enough workout for you. I use to be into working out with heavy weights and using all the machines in the gym. I never thought I would get a workout from Bodyweight Exercises either. Then I was left without a gym membership and lack of time to workout or get out of the house to workout so I tried Craigs Turbulence Training Bodyweight Cardio 3. I was left breathless. The elyptical machine, treadmill, rowing machine and exercise bike have nothing on this workout. This blew them all out of the water.

Every time I go on vacation I can just take my bodyweight workouts with me on my phone and do them anywhere I desire. No need to find the hotel gym that’s hidden away in the back corner with limited equipment. Give these Fat Burning Bodyweight Cardio Workouts for Vacation a try and you won’t regret it.

Fat Loss with Metabolic Resistance Training

What is Fat Loss with Metabolic Resistance Training you ask? It’s like combining a bodybuilder with a cardio bunny. It’s a step up from interval training. If you are looking to lose fat without long boring cardio then this may be the training for you. There is many ways that this metabolic resistance training can be done. Craig Ballantyne has some examples in his video as well as more information on this new type of training.

Now over to fitness expert, Craig Ballantyne, to explain why metabolic resistance training is so important for fat loss.

“What is Metabolic Resistance Training”

By Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS, CTT
Turbulence Training – Metabolic Resistance Training

What the heck are these metabolic resistance training workouts that everyone keeps talking about for fat loss? Well, you’ve probably heard the term because the internet is buzzing about this type of training for fat burning.

After all, gone are the days of slow cardio for weight loss. Heck, even interval training is starting to get passed over. All in favor of this specific type of workout called metabolic resistance training.

It’s really exciting though, to know that we can build muscle and lose fat at the same time, while getting lean and even having ripped six-pack abs thanks to these short, burst workouts. And you don’t need fancy, expensive equipment. Instead, you can focus on using bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, kettlebell exercises, or even TRX exercises.

Let me explain in this short, fun video with a few examples:

Metabolic Resistance Training Video Demonstration

How do you do Metabolic Resistance Training?

Anytime you use supersets or circuits and train with an elevated heart rate and insufficient recovery. You are doing metabolic resistance training. But the metabolic resistance training used by Turbulence Training readers is different. I’ve modified the heavy metabolic resistance training and also incorporated metabolic resistance conditioning using lighter resistance, and less rest.

In this new Turbulence Training metabolic resistance training workout program, you’ll get 4 workouts, broken down into these two components. Two workouts of heavy metabolic resistance training and two workouts of metabolic conditioning. The heavy workouts are done first, and are followed immediately the next day by the conditioning workouts.

I’ll be writing a lot more about metabolic resistance and conditioning workouts in the future to help you lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. That’s the beauty of the system; not only do the fast-paced, short burst workouts help you burn a ton of calories, but if your goal is muscle building, you can do that too.

Until then, get ready to use a few new exercises and a few training methods we haven’t used before to elevate ” in-workout and after-workout” calorie burning.

It’s all about working your metabolic systems for maximum calorie burning, while only permitting yourself to have incomplete
recovery. These are the intense workouts you’ve been looking for. No more slow, boring, monotonous cardio workouts that take forever.

Those days are over.

So be prepared to hear a lot more about MRT and metabolic lifting and conditioning workouts. And again, you aren’t limited to machines or weights. You can do these workouts with almost any equipment, and even with bodyweight exercises only, as my bodyweight cardio circuits have proven.

You’ll have a total blast even doing these types of programs at the park with your TRX and kettlebells and bodyweight. You’ll be so much better off than being stuck in stuffy gym with machines. And make sure to watch my video to find out why MRT might even be better than traditional interval training.

Times are a-changing. The entire fitness industry is going through a revolution where we move away from bodybuilder and cardio bunny workouts. And that’s a good thing. Doing less cardio and eliminating little isolation exercises, such as crunches, from your routines will help you get results fast.

2011 05 may tt metabolic resistance training Fat Loss with Metabolic Resistance TrainingGet started with the Turbulence Training Metabolic Resistance Training workouts here.

You now have a fun, four-day program that will get you ripped and give you the body that you deserve.

Train hard but safe with new MRT workouts.

Turbulence Training – Metabolic Resistance Training

Craig Ballantyne never stops amazing me with his new workouts he creates. I thought interval training was great but now having a metabolic resistance training workout to build muscle and lose fat in the least amount of time is the best for my busy lifestyle. The best part is you can do these Metabolic Resistance Training workouts anywhere with bodyweight exercises, dumbbells or kettlebell exercises. Quick workouts with “in-workout and after-workout” calorie burning is a win win situation. Looking forward to more of this Metabolic Resistance Training workouts from Craig Ballantyne.

2 Reasons Beginners Shouldn't use Long Slow Boring Cardio Workouts for Fat Loss

If you are a beginner it is very important that you begin your fat loss workouts properly. There are too many beginners out there starting their fat loss workout program wrong and hurting themselves or getting no results. This usually results in them giving up and getting discouraged about fat loss and workouts all together. Don’t be one of those beginners.

I’ll turn you over to Craig Ballantyne the fat loss expert to give you the truth about beginner fat loss workouts.

The Truth About Beginner Fat Loss Workouts

The last thing you want a beginner to do is long, slow, boring cardio workouts.

Two reasons why:

1) Beginners will get an overuse injury from doing too much exercise volume too soon.

I had many new clients come to me after injuring themselves trying to get back in shape by doing excessive cardio. Please don’t make the same mistake.

We had to spend weeks rehabilitating their injuries before we could kick their fat loss workouts into high gear.

2) Long, slow, boring cardio doesn’t very work well – if at all – for fat loss.

Research has shown that doing 300 hours of cardio (6 hours per week for 50 weeks) resulted in only 5-6 pounds of weight loss in American men and women.

That’s a waste of time.

So what’s a better beginner fat loss workout?

Let me explain.

FIRST, we start by doing a general bodyweight warm-up circuit.

Most old-school workouts tell you to do a 10-minute warm-up on a treadmill, but that’s a waste of time.

How does a treadmill prepare you for a total body workout?

Answer: It doesn’t. Jokes on us when we waste our time with it.

In the Turbulence Training workouts, you’ll get proven bodyweight circuit warm-ups that get you ready for fat loss.

SECOND, we do a lot of bodyweight resistance training, often while lying down on a mat.

That’s right, you’ll discover how to work your body and burn calories while LYING DOWN.

You’re going to be shocked by these exercises. In the Turbulence Training Beginner Workouts, you’ll see how to use total body exercises to burn fat with little or NO equipment, all done in the comfort of your own home.

THIRD, we finish off with interval training.

And YES, beginners can do interval workouts.

Here’s how I know this:

1) Researchers have used interval training in all types of populations, such as overweight beginners and even in cardiac rehabilitation (talk to your doctor though first, of course, if you have any medical conditions).

2) Research shows that subjects PREFER interval training over long cardio. So there you go, I’m not the only one who thinks cardio is boring – even subjects who volunteer for research studies would rather do interval training.

3) The most important interval training fat loss research study was performed on overweight beginner level women.

That study found that women who performed interval training on a stationary bike lost more belly fat than woman who did long slow cardio.

Case closed.

Fortunately, with the Turbulence Training Beginner Workout program you also get my “Bodyweight Cardio” program that replaces interval training if you don’t have a bike.

You can get that workout, plus three more beginner fat loss workouts here – all for less than the price of a greasy large pizza meal from one of the big chains:

Get it here =>  4 Beginner Fat Loss Workouts

Beginners can lose fat very fast with these workouts,

Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
Certified Turbulence Trainer

I hope all those beginners out there learned something here. Yeah!!! No more long, slow, boring cardio workouts. I know I learned not to do the treadmill for a warmup. If you really think about it, it only makes sense to warmup with exercises and movements you will actually be doing in your workout. These bodyweight warmup exercises really get your blood flowing and warmed up for your workout. If you are lifting weights in your workout I would also recommend doing a warmup set with less weight before your actual set.

Discover 101 Bodyweight Exercises to Help You Build Muscle and Burn Fat with Quick Workouts

Special Report by Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS, Men’s Health featured writer

Let me tell you a secret previously known by only a few of the world’s best personal trainers…

Your body is actually the BEST piece of home gym “workout equipment” in the world for helping you GAIN muscle and BURN fat without spending tons of money

Countless soldiers, secret service men, professional bodyguards, gymnasts, martial artists, dancers, and athletes have long relied on bodyweight training secrets to build a lean, long, sexy look.

And here’s something NO fitness magazine will ever admit. You know those cover models they put on their magazines? The ones with the six pack abs and flat stomachs and no belly fat?

I’ve met dozens of those fitness models, and only a small percentage even workout with weights

Most of them are simply athletic and just like to “bang out” a few quick bodyweight workouts per week

==> Get 101 Bodyweight Exercises to build muscle and burn fat here

Hardly any mainstream fitness model spends hours in the gym, even though that’s what the magazines tell you month after month! It’s a complex conspiracy to keep you coming back month after month for long commercial gym workouts, even though their superstar cover models don’t even use those programs.

Men and women with the long, lean bodies you want don’t use workout machines or even spend much time in commercial gyms at all…they are warriors, athletes, beach-body surfers, climbers, and all types of other people who prefer bodyweight exercise and fun activities over boring machine workouts.

The cover models are the people you see cranking out workouts at the playground or in the park with little more than their own bodyweight for resistance.

Bodyweight exercise is for people who want a life, not a life sentence of 2-hour long commercial gym workouts

Cover models – like professional surfer Laird Hamilton, for example – would much rather be out on the beach enjoying their life than “strutting their stuff” in the cardio area of an empty gym on a Saturday morning.

And so would I. That’s why I crank out a bodyweight workout three times per week rather than spending another 60 to 90 minutes in the gym with my “meathead buddies” who tell me I have to lift weights six days per week if I want to get buffed.

I tell them to “forget the obsessive-compulsive bodybuilding mentality”, and then I back that up with a picture that is worth a thousand words.

And I’m finally getting a few of my meathead buddies to come around to see what bodyweight exercises can do for them, and how much better they will feel being able to move athletically, rather than glued to a workout machine’s pre-set path that just breaks down joints from repetitive movement.

With bodyweight workouts, you’ll save time (they are shorter and don’t require you to drive to the gym and back), so you can enjoy more time outside – heck, you can even do most of these workouts in the park!

==> Get 101 Bodyweight Exercises to build muscle and burn fat here

You’ll be shocked when you compare the Turbulence Training Bodyweight Cardio 3 workouts against traditional cardio machines because your results will show…

Bodyweight Cardio workouts are more effective for total body conditioning and fat burning

Studies even show that traditional long, slow cardio workouts don’t even work while circuit training can help men and women gain muscle and burn fat at the same time – even if they are over 60 years old!

Bodyweight workouts are for men and women who want to build sex appeal while improving their health, fitness, mobility, and vitality.

And bodyweight exercises are for anyone who wants faster results and the ability to workout at home, rather than being forced into a 2-hour round trip to the gym.

If you want to burn belly fat and sculpt your body like a cover model – while just saying NO to long, boring cardio and extreme overuse bodybuilding workouts -you’ll love the Turbulence Training bodyweight workouts.
